“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?” – Isa. 43:19a (New Living)
It has been four months, and so far God has really tested us in the area of finances. For me, I have just clung to what I know about the Lord being my provider and seeking his wisdom in learning to save more and spend less. Christopher on the other hand, well, he is having more of an issue with it because he has been single for 23 years. Chris told me this past January that this year was the first time he has not clearly heard from God on his finances. Honestly, I believe He is speaking to Chris through other people such as Dave Ramsey and various teachings at church; he just isn’t used to having to struggle with finances, and I personally think this is a teaching ground for the Lord to show Chris something.
Not only has God been teaching Chris and myself in the area of our finances, but he also has been bringing opportunities our way to help others. For instance, God has allowed me to participate again with Kids For Christ, a non-profit organization started by a friend of mine here in the Belleville area where we live. This amazing ministry has really stretched out so far, they are even going to be opening something up in another state…I am truly blessed to be involved with this ministry. Another area we are now serving in is the hospitality ministry at our church. Chris and I will be serving food, breakfast in a sense to others on Sundays before the service begins. There are a few opportunities I (Angie) am sensing the leading of the Holy Spirit in regards to ministering to women, but for now, if you could keep me in your prayers for His guidance that would be a great blessing.
Along with these great opportunities, God has led me to start my own business as an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay. Now, at first, I didn’t want to do this because I am not very good at selling products and making a commission; but when I tried the product and saw the amazing results I just knew I had to tell others about it. Mary Kay has not only changed my view of makeup and skin care products, it has shown me not all women are catty and self-absorbed. Not only do I get to work with amazing women who share in my beliefs and desire to create positive change, I also get to meet other ladies and help them see the true beauty that lies dormant in each one of them. Plus, along with all each product sold, a portion of the proceeds will go to fund research on finding a cure for cancer, and help women in abusive situations – and that is just what Mary Kay as a whole does, I also get the chance to raise awareness for Down Syndrome and the families of those who live with it every day! I never thought I would be the type of person who owns her own business, but I am really enjoying it, especially because I get to set my own hours and still have time to see Chris when he comes home from work. God has truly blessed me!
God definitely has some new beginnings for Chris and myself, I want to thank all of you for your love and support. I also want to say how thankful we are to God for allowing us to speak into your lives, as well as your willingness to follow us on this journey.
